Relaxing on the Beach

After their relaxing beach wedding on Maui, complete with a traditional Hawaiian ceremony, Susy and Roland lingered on the shore, in no hurry to let the moment end. With their vows spoken and the day's excitement beginning to settle, they lay together in the sand and took the moment in. They had asked for pastel-colored balloons to come along, and we brought them down to the beach.

There's something about that stretch of time right after a wedding, no schedule to follow, no one to please but each other, that lets everything finally sink in. The sound of the surf, the warmth of the late-day sun, the salt air drifting in on the breeze: it all became part of the memory, as much a part of their wedding as the vows themselves. For a little while, it was just the two of them, freshly married, watching the ocean do what it's done for centuries, with nowhere else they needed to be.

Moments like these are why so many couples choose a Maui beach wedding in the first place, not just for the ceremony itself, but for the quiet magic that follows it.
