Maui Ti Leaf Wedding on a Canoe

A Canoe Arrival to Remember: Franzi and Marcel's Maui Wedding

Franzi and Marcel wanted their Maui wedding to feel as unforgettable as their love story, so they made their grand entrance by outrigger canoe. Picked up from the Fairmont Kea Lani, the couple was paddled onto Palauea Beach in Makena by two canoe paddlers where their ti leaf wedding ceremony awaited on the sand.

Rather than hauling wedding attire all the way from Switzerland, Franzi and Marcel chose something far more fitting for the islands: fresh, dark green ti leaf skirts, handwoven that very morning by one of our Hawaiian florists. The result was a Maui wedding unlike any other — and we loved seeing them step away from the traditional dress and suit for something truly one-of-a-kind.

This beach wedding was pure joy from start to finish, and we couldn't be happier for Franzi and Marcel as they begin this new chapter as husband and wife.
